AWANA- "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" ~2 Timothy 2:15

[link]

AWANA is a global Christian youth ministry featuring 6 groups:

-Puggles- The club for 1-2 year olds. [link]
-Cubbies- The club for 3-4 year olds. [link]
-Sparks- The club for Kindergarten-2nd graders. [link]
-Truth and Training (TandT)- The club for 3rd-6th graders. [link]
-Trek- The club for middle school students(6th-8th graders). [link]
-Journey- The club for high school students (9th-12th graders). [link]

The AWANA pledge, said every night by clubbers during the Flag Ceremony, says this, "I pledge allegiance to the AWANA flag/Which stands for the AWANA clubs/Whose goal is to reach boys and girls/With the gospel of Christ/And train them to serve Him." As this is the AWANA goal, so will be the goal of this group.

This group will serve as a social center for AWANA leaders and clubbers to connect with each other, share tips for being a good leader, or memorizing verses. We hope you will be mature as possible, keeping in mind that we are the body of Christ, and should act as much--respect those online as you would in real-life.

Welcome!

Welcome to the group on DeviantArt!

My name is--well, I sadly cannot tell you, due to a rule I will explain after this. However, I can tell you that I am a certified AWANA Sparks student leader. I saw the lack of an AWANA group, and I thought to add to the ministry by making this group.

But, there ARE rules, like with anything you'll ever do.

1. Never reveal your real name! Initials are fine if you are comfortable with it. As you may know, those on the Internet may not be whom they say they are. (In fact, I may be a 40 year old man with ungodly intentions! I assure you, I am not, but I'm sure you see my point.) Do not reveal your address, city, phone number, e-mail, or any other personal information! If you want to reveal your state/country, than that's OK. This 'Internet safety' stuff may seem like old news, but even so, accidents can happen. So, general rule, no personal information. 'Rob M. from TX' or 'T.R. from Ohio' is enough.

2. Be respectful! Heard of the Casting Crowns song, "If We Are the Body"? (Of course you have.) Well, the same thing goes here. If we are the Body, why would we use our mouth--er, hands and keyboard--to say mean things? Simply respect others' opinions--you'll find it much easier and fun to be online when you're nice.

3. Post helpful things in the gallery! If you want to have your parents help you clubbers post your drawings in here, fine! If you leaders have created a puzzle packet for Small Group Time, great! Post it! But, a lot of the deviations I hope to have in here are hints and tips for parts of the club night, ideas for special nights, links to places to get items for the AWANA store, or even just inspiration speeches--if your real world clubbers or leaders won't listen, why not make online peers read it?! Haha, Im joking, of course. Eveyone needs some inspiration now and then.

Well, rules over, I have also made a chatroom for live-chatting with your peers. (Find it here: [link]) We'll have meetings occasionally, but in general, it can just be used for anyone to chat with anyone about anything!*

*AWANA related, that is.

Note: The co-founders spot is reserved for any AWANA Commanders (if you trained in the AWANA Commander Collage, that's awesome) that want to join. They'll take care of the group if I'm away, and generally be the leaders of the group--they ARE my superiors.

So, enjoy yourselves, and God bless!

~S. Leader K.L.

(And, yes, this is what was written in my first journal. But since I'm going to make new journals, I need to have the rules/info SOMEWHERE.)
I think that, in order to get this group going and known and, well, BUSY, I should have someone help me with this group. If someone would like to be an admin, that would be lovely, because they could help me do things. I'm not good with this type of thing, to be honest.

Wow, now this is a random find! I've been in Awana since Sparks, I'm in Journey now, but this just made me really happy!

Well, Student Leader (the new term for LIT), so not a total leader yet...

I've been in AWANA since Cubbies (my church only has Cubbies, Sparks, and TnT). I'm doing my Trek book on my own time, since we don't have a club for it. ^^
